LIVE DEALER CASINOS
Live Baccarat
Baccarat (note the spelling is not "Baccarrat" or "Bacarrat" like I tend to do!) was one of the first online games to be added to live dealer casinos online. Although at first glance, Bacarrat looks to be fairly complicated, it is actually simpler at entry level than that. Of course, like any card game, the knowledge of the rules and odds are essential but pretty much anyone can play Bacarrat in a few easy steps. If you download one of the better online casinos like 32Red Casino (No USA) (which has a top reputation), you can try bacarrat in a live dealer environment, or practice in single player mode against the computer. This is always a good way to learn before playing live dealer bacarrat so you don't look like a plank first time out!
How To Play Baccarat
Essentially you are making one of 3 choices when you bet: that the dealer will win, the player will win or the game will end drawn. The latter is least likely, but the rewards are 8x your stake to reflect that. Whenever the cards in a hand add up to more than 10, you subtract 10 from the total to give the Baccarat points total. For example, an 8 and a Queen would normally pass off as 18, but in bacacrat it is 8.The player will receive a third card if his/her points total of the first 2 cards dealt is 0 - 5. The dealer will receive a third card if the first 2 cards dealt to the dealer:
- total less than 3 points
- total exactly 3 points (except when the players points total exactly 8)
- total 4 points (except when the player's total is 0, 1, 8 or 9)
- total 5 points (except when the player's total is 0, 1, 2, 3, 8, or 9)
- total 6 points (except when the player's total is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 or 9)
The odds for either dealer or player winning are "evens" (1:1) meaning you get your stake back plus the same again. However, beacuse their is a slight advantage to the dealer, when you bet on the dealer winning, the house takes a 5% commission to offset this fact. As previously mentioned, if you bet on the game being tied, you win 8x your stake back plus your original stake (8-1).
So there you go...Bacarrat is pretty simple after all :)
